NBEC 1819 was a CP RS-18 locomotive, originally built as CP 8768 before being rebuilt to CP 1819. It was sent to IRSI at the end of March 2003 “for work to its vibration dampener”. Later indications are that it has a bad crankshaft and engine block. It received a block from either VIA 6761 or 6783. It was returned by September 2003.
After CN’s purchase of the New Brunswick East Coast Railway in late 2008, NBEC 1819 was sold to the Gaspe Railway Company where it is SFG 1819.
