Freight and mixed trains were limited to 25 miles per hour maximum over the subdivision. There was a 20 MPH speed restriction over the bridge at mile 54.1 outside Inverness, and a 5 MPH speed restriction on bridges for CR-12e,f locomotive types at miles 15.7, 19.4 and 41.8.
The heaviest car permitted on the subdivision was 169,000 lbs.
