The Ontario Northland Railway (ONR) is a railroad that runs between Toronto and Moosonee, Ontario and serves communities like North Bay and Cochrane. There are spur lines to several mines along the way.
The ONR operates passenger services between Cochrane and Moosonee as the Polar Bear Express. It used to run the Northlander between Cochrane and Toronto but this service ended on September 28, 2012. In 2022 the government of Ontario committed to investing $75 million toward resuming the Northlander service.
The Ontario Northland Railway is owned by the province of Ontario, under the auspices of the Ontario Northland Transportation Commission.
The ONR was originally known as the Temiskasing and Northern Ontario (T&NO). It was renamed in 1946 to the Ontario Northland Railway.
