Hi Steve
I’m intrigued by the heading just above here re Canadian prairie intercity transit, but the link doesn’t work for me! I hope you can help
I have a good reason for my interest: my late father, Ira Moore, built and operated the first intercity bus in Manitoba, and maybe the first on the Canadian prairies. It was 1922 and he was 16 years old. He built his first bus body on a 1921 International “Red Baby” 3/4 ton truck, and ran twice and three-times daily runs from 1922 to 1938, between Winnipeg and Portage la Prairie, 60 miles of MUD trails.
I hope you might have his story on your site!! Alternatively, do you have anything we in Manitoba have never seen to show somebody else predated his venture??
I hope to hear more from you!
Ian Moore
Hi Ian, thanks for commenting. I see your father was mentioned in this article on the Manitoba Historical Society site, about 2/3 down on the page.
