The Lake Line Railroad was formed in July 2012 to operate trains over two pieces of track, a portion of the CP Winnipeg Beach subdivision from Gimli to Selkirk, and a portion of the CP Lac du Bonnet subdivision from Beasejour to Molson.
CP Winnipeg Beach
On the CP Winnipeg Beach subdivision, the Lake Line Railroad has purchased from mile 26.13 (north of Selkirk) to mile 58 (end of track in Gimli). They have leased the Silica Plant lead at mile 21.5 and have trackage rights from mile 26.13 to mile 20 so they can interchange with CP in Selkirk.
They originally used GMTX 98 for power on the Gimli line, but currently use ex Wabush Lake Railway MDXX 911, an MLW RS-18.
Customers include the Diageo distillery in Gimli as well as Hudson Cement in Selkirk. There is one grain elevator on the line, at Netley.
CP Lac du Bonnet
On the CP Lac du Bonnet subdivision, the Lake Line Railroad has purchased from mile 1.08 (near Molson) to mile 10.9 (near Beausejour). In 2014 the line was operated by GMTX 426, based in Beausejour, but in later years it has been switched by leased CP power.
The Viterra grain elevator just outside Beasejour is served by the railroad.
