I try to support various railway-related organizations, either through money, time or exposure, to help them on their missions to preserve and promote railway history. Here are a few that I support. I hope you will consider supporting them. If you have your own favourite museum or organization, please promote them in the comments.
The Bytown Railway Society
The BRS is the publisher of Branchline magazine, the Canadian Trackside Guide, and much more. They also own and restore several pieces of railway equipment at the Canadian Science and Technology Museum in Ottawa. DONATE
Transport Action Canada
TAC is Canada’s leading citizen transportation advocacy group, representing the interests of users of public transport in Canada. I am a director on the national board. They have several regional groups, including Transport Action Atlantic that I was a member of for many years. DONATE
Center for Railroad Photography & Art
The CRP&A’s mission is to preserve and present significant images of railroading. They are doing excellent work archiving and sharing important collections, and they produce a fantastic quarterly magazine, Railroad Heritage. JOIN

Winnipeg’s PDC operates a steam-hauled passenger train with century-old coaches. They are a first-class organization dedicated to preserving and sharing railway history through their trains. CONTACT
VIA Historical Association
The VHA is working to assemble and preserve a representative collection of VIA Rail cars and locomotives. They own the Edmundston and a few RDCs and are actively working to acquire more pieces. I maintain their web site and social media accounts. DONATE
