The CP Arborg subdivision runs from Winnipeg, MB north toward Arborg, MB. This branch line was cut back from Arborg to mile 17.7 (short of Balmoral) sometime between 2008 and 2010. The subdivision is slated to be shortened further to mile 10.7.

The maximum speed limit on the CP Arborg subdivision is 25 MPH. Cars over 268,000 pounds must not exceed 10 MPH between mile 3.0 and mile 12.0 and are prohibited north of mile 12.0.
The subdivision operates under the Occupancy Control System (OCS) between mile 3.0 and the station name sign at Stony Mountain. It is rule 105 (non-main track) territory between Stony Mountain and end of track at mile 17.7.
